AniCal
Privacy Policy
Last updated - 30 June 2026
In short
AniCal is a free, ad-free anime calendar published as a personal project by Nathan Pichon. We never sell or rent your data.
You can use AniCal without an account. In that mode, your follows, watched episodes and preferences mostly stay in your browser's local storage.
Data we process
- A random local device identifier.
- Follows, progress, watched episodes, language and timezone.
- Push subscription data if you enable notifications: endpoint, encryption keys and browser type.
- AniList or MyAnimeList data if you connect an account: platform id, username, avatar, OAuth tokens and anime list.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service: calendar, follows, offline mode and sync.
- Sending push notifications only with your consent.
- Syncing AniList or MyAnimeList only when you connect an account.
- Measuring usage and performance to improve the product.
Processors and transfers
AniCal uses Railway for the application, Vercel for the public website, PostHog and Vercel Analytics for product analytics, plus anime data sources such as AniList, Jikan, AnimeThemes and TMDB. Some providers are located outside the European Union; related transfers are covered by contractual safeguards.
Translation and content generation may use Anthropic Claude or local Ollama. They process anime content, never your personal data.
Retention and rights
Account data is kept while your account remains connected. Push subscriptions are kept until disabled or expired. Local data remains on your device until browser storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
You can request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection or restriction by emailing contact@npichon.eu. You may also contact the French data protection authority, CNIL.
